It was a pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Evika Silina to Brussels today. 

Belgium and Latvia share a strong and historic partnership that continues to grow as we mark 35 years of renewed diplomatic relations. 

Our discussions focused on reinforcing security on NATO’s eastern flank, strengthening our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity and deepening our economic and defense cooperation, also in light of the need for Europe to ensure greater responsibility for its own security.

As European and transatlantic partners, we stand united in our commitment to peace, security and a resilient Europe.
